Cashing in on used books

If you’re an avid reader like my girlfriend and I are you likely face the same 2 issues as us:

  1. What to do with all the books now that we’re done with them (especially if space is at a premium in your home)
  2. How can we afford to buy more books?

That used to be our issue until we discovered a great site that will buy back your books – including text books –  We came across them about 7 years ago and have received around $50 from them over that time.  [It would have been much more but in our haste during the house purchase 3 years ago we didn’t have time enough to register, pack, & ship them the huge stack we had amassed at that point, opting instead to donate them en mass to save some time]

They prefer only newer books (within the last 3-6 years, depending on the title) but that shouldn’t be an issue with bibliophiles like ourselves.  Registering is easy and selling takes only 3 simple steps:

Cash4Books Steps

  1. GET A QUOTE – From the main page of the website, type the ISBNs from your books into the online form (An ISBN is a unique bar code number, usually found on the back cover, that identifies that book much like a VIN for a car).  The system will tell you if that book is one that they are interested in and how much they are willing to pay.

  2. SHIP THE BOOKS – FREE shipping with their prepaid label.
  3. GET CASH – Check or PayPal payment upon receipt of books.

I have my money directly deposited in my PayPal account.  That way, every time I get paid I can then use that money that much quicker to pay for more books.

I have another grocery bag filled to the brim with paperbacks and hardcovers which need to be loaded this weekend.  I can’t wait to see how much I’m going to get back this time!
